They are always eaten cooked; and potato cakes and French fries are popular worldwide. Some people like them stewed, boiled, roasted and baked. In many books and online sites, you can find the best recipes with potato for any occasion along with tips. In this article, I will present you with my favorite three recipes with potatoes.
New Potatoes Gratiné
The cheesy and creamy new potatoes gratiné is super delicious and sinfully rich. It is also one of the easiest dishes you could ever make. You will need 2 ½ pounds scrubbed potatoes, 4 strips of bacon, 1/8 tablespoon grated nutmeg, 1 cup of heavy cream, 1 tablespoon fresh thyme, 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, 2 tablespoons + 1 ½ teaspoon salt, 1 garlic clove and 1 ½ cups grated cheddar cheese. First preheat the oven to 400 degrees Celsius. Peel and cut the potatoes into thirds lengthwise and cook the bacon until browned and very crisp. Take a slotted spoon and use it to transfer the bacon to paper towel to drain, and when cool, crumble it. Stir the nutmeg, thyme and cream into the fat and set aside. Meanwhile, fill a large pot with water, put 2 tablespoons salt and bring it to a boil. Then add the potatoes and cook for eight minutes. Use e slotted spoon and carefully remove the potatoes. Take a two-quart baking dish, grease it with butter and rub garlic inside the dish. Layer the potatoes, and on top of every layer sprinkle bacon, pepper, salt and cheese; and pour the cream mixture over the potatoes. Use a foil to cover the dish and bake for 40 minutes. Then sprinkle with more cheese and keep baking about ten minutes. You can now enjoy this amazing dish. Bon appétit!
